Application
The application form does not look right on my screen (overlapping drop down boxes, long rows over the input fields, etc.). First, you should let the entire form load before you scroll. It is a big form. If you still have a problem, here is the solution that will work in most cases: 1. Clear the cache (temporary files) in Internet Explorer (Usually Tools>Internet Options>Remove Temporary files 2. Shut down Internet Explorer 3. Restart the computer 4. Open JUST MS Internet Explorer. 5. Go to Web site, fill out form.
How will I know that my team has been accepted? We will post the list of accepted teams approximately one week after the application deadline. In addition, all accepted teams will be sent an acceptance e-mail (sent to all coaches and team contacts registered on the application). This email will contain instructions for confirming participation in the Cincy Challenge via this web site. Once confirmed, all acceptance packet documents will be available online. No acceptance packets will be mailed.
Why didn't I receive an e-mail confirmation of my application? Many e-mail providers like AOL, Yahoo, MSN and HotMail offer spam filters to reduce your junk e-mail. If you use such a service, you may experience troubles receiving e-mail confirmation and other tournament communication. To ensure that you receive all tournament messages, please set your e-mail filter settings to receive messages from this tournament, and also keep a close eye on your "junk" folder for any tournament related messages that may still have been filtered. Thank you.

What age groups will play 8 v 8 and which age groups will play 11 v 11? In the spring of 2006, The Cincinnati and Dayton districts of Ohio-South adopted a new "small sided games" format to age groups U-12 and younger. In keeping with these new formats, the Cincy Challenge will offer the 6 v 6 playing format for U-10 and younger teams, the 8 v 8 playing format for U-11 and U-12 teams, and the 11 v 11 playing format for age groups U-13 and older. If your team desired to play another format, please see the other related questions below.
The brackets look different than what I am use to, do I have at least 3 matches and does everyone have a chance to make the final? In order to make every bracket as competitive as possible, we do have some brackets of 6, 8, and 12 teams. Though somewhat non-traditional, this is very common in some of the largest and most competitive tournaments. Every team is guaranteed a minimum of 3 matches and every team in each bracket has an equal chance to advance to the tournament final. What this format does is put a strong emphasis on each team's performance in their Saturday matches and creates a semi-final and consolation match for some Sunday morning matches, depending on the bracket.
Will the U-10 age group be playing 6 v 6 or 8 v 8? U-10's will play 6 v 6. If a U-10 team desires to play 8 v 8 for some reason, then they could/should note that on their tournament application. One option is that they could play up into the lower bracket of the U-11 age group. A second option is that if enough U-10 teams express an interest, we could add an 8 v 8 bracket for the age group.
Will the U-12 age group be playing 8 v 8 or 11 v 11? U-12's will play 8 v 8. If a U-12 team desires to play 11 v 11 for some reason, then they could/should note One option is that they could play up into the lower bracket of the U-13 age group. A second option is that if enough U-12 teams express an interest, we could add an 11 v 11 bracket for that age group.

General
Where are your fields located? The tournament will be held at parks in Lebanon, OH and Mason, OH - both of which are between the I-75 and I-71 corridor, just outside of Cincinnati's I-275 beltway. All fields are within just a few miles from each other. They include Lebanon Sports Complex in Lebanon (main location), Corwin Nixon Park in Mason, and Mason High School in Mason.
Are "Trapped 8th Graders" able to play in the tournament? Yes, they are allowed to participate in our tournament as long as they are not registered as a GUEST player. They must be a regular roster player for the team. (A "trapped" or "orphaned" 8th grader is one who will be in the 8th grade in the fall, yet has a birthdate where she/he turns 14 before Aug 1st.)
What can we do between games? From our fields and hotels, Kings Island amusement park is only a few minutes away, where October's Fear Fest will be taking place. There is wonderful shopping in the many quaint shops located in both Lebanon and Mason with unique gifts, collectibles and antiques. Many of our guests visit the Newport Aquarium just south of downtown Cincinnati (approximately 30 minutes away), there are tons of great restaurants in our area, upscale indoor malls (Kenwood Towne Center) and outdoor malls (Deerfield Towne Center) are very close, there are county parks in close proximity to our sites.
